About Featherlite Coaches
Featherlite Coaches Today
Featherlite Coaches is an active builder of luxury Prevost conversion motorcoaches, with its corporate headquarters and manufacturing in Suffolk, Virginia, and a sales and service facility in Sanford, Florida.
The company has completed more than 800 coaches and continues to build new ones today, six to eight a year, up to two of them fully bespoke. Featherlite is in the select group of world-class converters that Prevost considers a Converter Partner, and has been part of the Adams family of businesses since 2008, alongside Amadas Coach. Jimmy Adams is President.
Vantaré began as a builder of motor yachts.
In 1991 the company took what it knew about a yacht interior, the joinery, the way a cabin is built to hold together under load, the finish you notice with your hand before your eye, and set it inside a Prevost shell. It showed the result at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, a coach parked among the boats.
Featherlite still builds using Vantaré as a model name. Not for nostalgia. That coach is where the way we build came from, and the yacht-quality thinking never left the shop.
Luxury Travel, Built the Right Way
At Featherlite Coaches, we build more than luxury motorcoaches. We build a better way to travel.
Our mission is simple: to help our clients enjoy a luxury travel lifestyle on the open road with the people who matter most - family, friends, grandkids, and the experiences that make life rich. That mission shapes everything we do, from the way a coach is engineered and handcrafted to the way we care for owners long after delivery.

Featherlite is a boutique builder of Prevost conversion motorcoaches, known for understated luxury, thoughtful innovation, and yacht-quality craftsmanship. Every Vantaré is designed to feel refined, personal, and effortless to live with - whether you are traveling cross-country, heading to the track, or making memories with family. That standard came from boatbuilding, and the Featherlite Coaches history explains how.
Built on the Best Foundation in the Industry
Prevost builds the platform. We build what goes on it.
That division is deliberate on both sides. Prevost engineers a commercial passenger chassis for strength and longevity, then works with a short list of converters it names publicly. Featherlite is on that list, alongside Emerald Luxury Coaches, Liberty Coach, LOKI Coach, Marathon Coach, and Millennium Luxury Coaches.
Prevost describes that arrangement as intentional rather than incidental, and says each converter brings its own design philosophy to the platform. We would put it the same way. Every company on that list builds a good coach. What differs is the thinking inside the shell, and that is the real decision in front of a buyer.
Featherlite coaches are built on the Prevost H3-45 and X3-45 chassis.
Designed with Intention. Built with Precision.
What sets Featherlite apart is the level of intention behind every detail.
Engineering That Thinks Ahead
Before a coach is ever built, our engineering team designs mechanical, electrical, and cabinetry systems in 3D. That process creates precision, consistency, and forethought that owners can feel in the finished coach - both in how it performs and in how it lives.

Design That Feels Personal
Our interior design process brings together luxury materials, custom finishes, and personalized details that give each Vantaré its own identity. No two owners travel the same way, and no two Featherlite Coaches should feel exactly alike. Always 1-of-1. Never duplicated.

Beauty Backed by Substance
A Featherlite coach is not just beautiful on the surface. It is built from the inside out to deliver lasting quality, performance, and ease of ownership.
Yacht-Quality Construction
From lightweight composites and marine-grade wiring to handcrafted upholstery and premium finish work, every layer of the coach is designed to perform as beautifully as it looks.
Advanced Manufacturing
We use precision-milled components, advanced materials, and a carefully managed manufacturing process to ensure each coach meets the high standards our name represents.
Quality Without Compromise
Our quality control process follows each coach through every stage of production because excellence is not a feature—it is the standard.

Ownership Should Feel Effortless
Luxury ownership should feel reassuring, not complicated. That is why customer care is a core part of the Featherlite experience.
In addition to factory service support in Suffolk, Virginia, we maintain a service facility in Sanford, Florida, support owners with highly skilled traveling technicians at events and rallies, and work with a nationwide network of service partners. Our goal is simple: to help clients travel with confidence and enjoy their coach the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
Trusted by Owners Who Expect More
There is a reason Featherlite has earned the trust of discerning owners, business leaders, and motorsports professionals alike. Our coaches are prized for their luxury, reliability, drivability, and the pride that comes with owning something truly special.
They are built for people who appreciate craftsmanship, expect personal attention, and want the very best in a Prevost conversion motorcoach.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Featherlite Coaches still in business?
Yes. Featherlite Coaches builds new Prevost conversion motorcoaches today at its factory in Suffolk, Virginia, and services coaches there and at its facility in Sanford, Florida. The company has completed more than 800 coaches and builds six to eight each year.
Who owns Featherlite Coaches?
Featherlite Coaches has been part of the Adams family of businesses since 2008, alongside Amadas Coach. Jimmy Adams is President.
What is Vantaré, and how is it related to Featherlite Coaches?
Vantaré is the model name Featherlite uses on most of its Prevost motorhome conversions. It began as a motoryacht brand, and in 1991 the company behind it built its first Prevost conversion, showing it at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Our yacht building heritage has passed down building techniques and attention to detail that we are proud of and still describe today as "yacht quality fit and finish".
Where is Featherlite Coaches located?
Featherlite Coaches corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility is at 1007 Obici Industrial Boulevard in Suffolk, Virginia. The company also operates a sales and service facility at 1900 Bobby Lee Point in Sanford, Florida.
Is Featherlite a Prevost authorized converter?
Yes. Prevost names its converter partners publicly, and Featherlite Coaches is one of them, listed with Emerald Luxury Coaches, Liberty Coach, LOKI Coach, Marathon Coach, and Millennium Luxury Coaches. Converter Partner is Prevost's own term for the relationship.
For an owner, that means the coach begins life as a genuine Prevost and stays one. The chassis, engineering, and service network behind it are Prevost's, not ours, and they remain Prevost's long after we finish building. You are not buying a custom body on an unfamiliar frame. You are buying a Prevost that Featherlite has built around the way you travel.
How many coaches does Featherlite build each year?
Six to eight. Up to two of those are Bespoke Design Package builds, designed around a single owner from the floorplan outward. Limited production is deliberate, because it is what makes that level of personalization possible.
Which companies convert Prevost motorhomes?
Prevost names its converter partners publicly. They are Emerald Luxury Coaches, Featherlite Coaches, Liberty Coach, LOKI Coach, Marathon Coach, and Millennium Luxury Coaches. Each brings its own design philosophy to the same platform, which is why two Prevost conversions can feel entirely different to live in.
What is the difference between Featherlite Coaches and Featherlite Trailers?
They are two separate companies today, and have been since 2006. They share a name because they share a history.
Featherlite, Inc. built trailers and car transporters. In 1996, it moved into luxury motorcoaches by acquiring Vantaré International, Inc., which is how the Vantaré name came to Featherlite. In 2006, Featherlite, Inc. merged with Universal Trailer Holdings Corp, and the Clements, key executives at Featherlite, purchased the motorcoach division, separating Coaches from Trailers. They ran the company until 2008, when it became part of the Adams family of businesses.
Featherlite Trailers continues to build trailers. Featherlite Coaches builds Prevost conversion motorcoaches in Suffolk, Virginia.
